Driving to Campbell River
The Inland Highway (19) on Vancouver Island shortens travel time, or you can take the shoreline Highway (19A), a little longer drive and enjoy the scenery.
From Vancouver, BC Ferries offers several routes and multiple sailings per day, 7 days a week. Reservations are a good idea.

Horseshoe Bay ( Vancouver ) to Departure Bay ( Nanaimo )
The terminal is located on the north side of Vancouver and is best if you want to see Vancouver. From Departure Bay it is an approximate 1 hour and 30 minutes drive to Campbell River on the Inland Island Hwy (19) north.
Tsawwassen ( Vancouver ) to Duke Point ( Nanaimo )
The terminal is located at the extreme south of the Vancouver area. This is the route to take if coming from the south, such as US travelers crossing the border by car.
Tsawwassen ( Vancouver ) to Swartz Bay ( Victoria )
This route is for travelers who would like to visit Victoria, the capital city of BC, before making their way north to Campbell River. From Victoria, drive approximately 3 1/2 hours to Campbell River on the In-land Island Hwy (19) north.

There are many different options when flying to Campbell River by air, from seaplanes to small and large jets. Please check out the airlines for information for your preferred travel times.
Private plane and jet owners can fly directly into Campbell River Airport (YBL). It is conveniently located with a 15-20 minute drive from downtown.
